Other SBD sources of the first set are pitched slow - the unknown_73820 is a whole step down. SOURCES: The hinko_14386 SBD is the best 1st set. Jack-a-Roe - perfection, maybe the best of the tourĭark Hollow - check Jer's fills behind Bobbyīlack Peter - Jer plays to every last seat Most of the rest is average '80, though the Truckin' has a brief Nobodys Fault jam (the only one of '80.I think), and Black Peter is one of the potent, stadium types. Though Eyes is way uptempo, it doesn't gel - or maybe that's why. It was chopped up for Dead Set: The first 9sec are missing 33sec of the intro solo are cut 38sec from the 2nd solo are cut (3:33>4:11 on the chappell on DS) and the 3rd solo is cut by ~1:03 (5:10>6:13 on the chappell and on DS). Scar>Fire has some big moments, especially the latter. Average '80 set but Jer's solos are money throughout this show. The tail-out of Althea is great but the one a few days earlier is better. Minglewood is more powerful in the full version than on Dead Set, where it has three edits: 29sec are cut, taking one measure from the 1st Jer solo a 28sec cut takes one measure from the Brent solo & a 1min24sec cut takes one measure from Bobby's slide solo and all of the 2nd Jer solo. Beat it on Down the Line-8 is tossed off. Candyman ain't bad but it's unusually spare. Jer stretches here, too, but I could do without Brent's tinklebell preset - which sounded better/thicker from the stacks than it does on the SBDs. Jer takes two measures for the Uncle solo the 2nd is nice. The meat of the set is certainly solid enough. This set is average '80 fare except for an insane Franklin's Tower - 8½min with some genuine faXtor, sans Help>Slip. Because Ripple was played at all 25 shows, you can be choosy but this has its charms (the harmonizing is a bit different, as is Brent's tinkling). Bird Song, while maybe not the best from the shows, is still great. To Lay Me Down becomes stand-out at the 2nd solo - way nice. Jer's fills behind Bobby are great and the solos are jaw-droppers. The solo is perfection and I love the quoted melody. It's also a long-familiar version, since it was on Reckoning. The next couple are not as noticeable, but this may be the single best Jack-a-Roe of the eleven.

There are 19 of these, but this is one of the best. This is one of the times that Bobby goes with "that girl" instead of "fat girl" for On the Road Again.

Tracks from this show have shown up on four official releases and reissues.įirst Set. There are no great single-point sources for this date they all devolve to some extent and all of the uncorrected origins are pitched incorrectly. Though this is a long show from the tour (the middle set is 1:20, the third is nearly 2), the playing is average overall.
